Description:
Our "Full Zip" sleeping bag has
a #5 two way zipper that extends to the toe of the bag for superior
venting. The bottom end of the zipper can be opened to kick your
feet out, or flip the bag around and wear it like a cape in camp on
a cold morning. This bag includes a draft tube covering the zipper.
For maximum warmth lay on the zipper to keep it insulated under you,
or turn it to the side or top for convenience on
warmer nights.
The bags are made with premium 900 fill power white European goose down and some of
the lightest nylon shell materials available. Our down is ethically
sourced straight from the producer. Our down is tested with
International Down and Feather Association (IDFB) Lorch standards,
and is comparable to 950 fill power down tested in the US.
The longer two-way zipper and draft tube contribute about 3.2 ounces
(91 grams) to the total weight. For a slightly lighter option
compare our
3/4th zip 'Classic' sleeping bag,
or our
'Solo Quilt'.
Warmth:
Goose down works by creating tiny air pockets which act as a thermal
barrier. Generally speaking, the more loft a bag has (the thicker
the insulation) the more air it traps and the warmer it is. It is
very important that the down stays where you want it rather than
shifting around or clumping up, creating thin cold spots. Our bag
has narrow, relatively short chambers so that the down has less room
to migrate. It has vertical chambers at the upper body to prevent
the down from being pulled to the sides by gravity as you shift
around at night. There are no sewn-through spots except the zipper
which is covered by a draft tube.
Features:
- Vertical baffles on the upper body keep down from migrating to
the sides. Tightly spaced compartments help keep the down evenly
distributed so there are no cold spots. There are no "sewn
through" seams.
- Each compartment is overstuffed with 30% more 900 Fill Power
Premium Goose Down than is necessary for maximum loft to account
for any future down compression. Our down is ethically sourced and
is a natural byproduct of the goose meat industry.
- Store loose (hanging in a closet for example) when not in use.
Each bag has a hang loop at the foot. Alternatively it can be
stored loose in a laundry bag.
- Black fabric on the inside for quick drying. Both the liner and the shell are treated with
durable water repellant to resist rain spray and body moisture.
- A full length two way zipper extends to the toe of the bag so
that you can open the bottom end and vent your feet, or flip the
bag around and wear it as a cape in camp on cold mornings.
- A draft tube stops cold air from passing through the zipper.
Position the zipper below you for maximum warmth, or turn it to
the side or top for convenience on warmer nights.
- A zipper guard is in place to prevent the zipper from snagging
on the draft tube or sleeping bag material.
- A flat clip at the neck keeps the zipper
securely closed. Or use the clip alone with the zipper opened for venting.
- An Elastic cord can be cinched tight around your neck to
keep out drafts, or pull the bag up around your ears.
This bag does not have a hood- wear a warm hat,
or a Goose Down Hood,
or size up in length if you want to pull it up around your head.
- This sleeping bag has been updated to a durable #5 YKK two-way
zipper in May 2018.
- Two full zip bags can be zipped together side by side. This
works best if the bags are the same length. Different length bags
can still be joined but they will not be even at the top of the
zipper. Bags produced before May 2018 have a different zipper and
will not join to new bags.
- A
Roll
Top Dry Bag is included, and adds about .9 ounces (25.5
grams) to the listed weight.
The dry bags are a comfortable fit and can be compressed smaller
by squishing the contents and rolling the top down more.
- Store the sleeping bag loose (hanging in a closet, or in a
laundry bag) when not in use to protect the loft.
- All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in
materials or workmanship. Please see our
return / warranty policy.
- For more info check out the Sleeping
Bag FAQs.

Washing Instructions:
Follow the instructions on our
Granger's Down Wash
page.
Choose your Size:
Length:
We have found that a hoodless sleeping bag works best if you can
pull it up around your ears on cold nights or bundle it up around
your neck to seal out drafts. You'll want to sleep in a warm hat,
your jacket hood, and/or a
Goose Down Hood in extreme cold.
The listed length of the bag should come up to the
ears of a person that
height. The length factors in space for your feet, length to come
around your body girth, and around the shoulders. The foot box and
sizing work well for stomach sleepers and side sleepers as well as back
sleepers.
Girth:
The dimensions of the bag are measured with it opened up, stretched
tight, from one edge to the other. If you already have a bag to
compare, measure the same way.
To measure your body use a string or cloth tape measure around the
thickest part of your chest including your arms. Add 8"
or more for wiggle room.
If you like extra wiggle room size up in
width!
You can also use a sheet or blanket pinned to the specified width to get an idea of how much girth you'll have.
Temperature Rating:
Everyone sleeps different depending on a variety of factors. Body fat, clothing worn, metabolism,
how enclosed your tent is, how windy or wet out it is, how acclimated to the
cold you are, and other factors can make a difference. Women sometimes sleep
colder then men. As a rule of thumb, most people will be chilly but ok at the
rating.
35F (2C) - This bag is great to save weight on summer trips or in warmer
climates when you know the temperature will not drop below freezing. It gets
chilly in the mountains even in summer!
20F (-7) - This is the most popular rating. It is warm enough for most people to
hike in late spring, summer, early fall and is a good choice for most
thru-hikes. you can always vent when it is hot.
5F (-15C) - This bag will let you extend your trips earlier in the spring and
later in the fall. It is a better three season bag for people who sleep cold. It
is not a true 'winter' bag and you may need to wear additional
insulating layers in an enclosed tent to push it to the limit.
