Description:
Our Vertice rain gear is the pinnacle of waterproof breathable
technology. It is breathable enough to sleep in or hike in if it is cold out
without getting clammy. It is thick enough to withstand light brush and
abrasion, and it is among
the lightest possible choices for waterproof breathable rain gear.
Features:
- Adjustable shock cord at the waist. The shock cord can be
cinched down to any minimum.
- Wide ankles will fit over most shoes up to US Men's size 12
without removing them. That means less weight and no zippers that
could potentially fail in the mud or drag on the ground.
- Packs up tiny as shown. Roll the pants up and secure them with the waist
elastic. No stuff sack necessary.
- Combine these pants with a matching
Jacket and
Mitts for a super light rain
suit!
-
Repair tape sticks extremely well to the inside of
the material so repairs in
the field are a cinch. Tape will not stick to the
exterior.
- All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in
materials or workmanship. Please see our
return / warranty policy.
Construction:
- Built from our Vertice 3-Layer
waterproof breathable fabric. This material is
constructed with a tricot lining to wick moisture away
from your skin, a waterproof, vapor permeable membrane in the
middle, and 7 denier ripstop nylon on the exterior.
- Incredible 56,000+ g/m^2/24hr vapor transfer per
test JIS L 1099 Method B1. This breathability rating
blows away most other rain gear, including our
previous generation fabrics.
- Fully waterproof, 20,000 mm hydrostatic head
rating.
- Durable, effective "C6" water repellent on the
exterior.

Measuring:
Waist: Use a string or cloth tape measure to measure around
your waist and compare that to our "Fits Waist" measurement. Don't rely on your
"pant size" as the waist varies from brand to brand and may not actually
correspond to inches.
There is no zipper, so our pants are built with the waist line loose enough to come up over typical hips and fit over your
normal hiking pants. There is an elastic waist band to cinch them
down to any minimum size. Women with large hips may need to size up a
waist size.
Length:
The inseam length corresponds to normal US Men's pant inseams.
Care:
Rain gear should only be washed as needed, after a few
trips or if you notice that the DWR is not as effective as when new.
Machine wash with
Grangers Wash+Repel
or similar product. Tumble dry or line dry.
Reviews and Customer Testimonials:
Please email us with feedback (good or bad) if you have any!
"I just wanted to give some feedback on my new rain pants for my section hike of the AT from Rutland, Vermont to Mt. Katahdin this summer.
When I left Gentian Pond Shelter in Maine on July 12th, the rain had started.
By the time I got to the top of Mt. Success
it was sleeting so hard it was cutting my face.
The rain pants saved me that day and performed great.
I was wearing shorts underneath, but the fabric did not stick to my skin.
I also wore them climbing Katahdin on August 7th.
Although it was clear, the winds were a steady 70 mph and around 50 degrees.
These pants saved me on both days.
Thanks for a great product." -Maury Deacon H.
"These pants are fantastic. I have hiked, bicycled and backcountry skied hundreds of miles in these pants.
From rocky trails in freezing rain at 30 mph to sunny wet powder ski days these pants have seen it all and shrugged it off.
In several inch rains from Washington downpours they do get damp but do not transfer water to your under layers.
They are so light that sometimes I forget I have them on. The inseam options are quite helpful for mobility and fit." - Mark 'Sticks' O.
