Description:
Our Vertice rain gear is the pinnacle of waterproof breathable
technology. It is breathable enough to sleep in or hike in if it is cold out
without getting clammy. It is thick enough to withstand light brush and
abrasion, and it is among
the lightest possible choices for waterproof breathable rain gear.
Features:
- Watch the Vertice Rain
Jacket Overview Video with Will Wood.
- Full length water proof front zipper. The zipper also has a
rain guard behind it for added protection.
- All the seams are taped water tight.
- Adjustable elastic at the wrists and hood can be cinched tight
or let loose with one hand.
- Elastic at the hem seals out drafts.
- Fitted hood with visor keeps water off your face. The visor
works best when worn over a stiff hat brim. A strap on the back of the hood allows you to make vertical
adjustments to keep the visor out of your eyes when not worn over
a hat.
- The hood can be rolled up and clipped when not in use.
- The hood is not specifically designed for a helmet, but it is
a decent fit over a climbing, skiing, snowboarding, or cycling
helmet.
- The chest
pocket is positioned just below your backpack's sternum strap so
that you can easily access the pocket while wearing a backpack.
The pocket is roughly 8 inches wide by 9.5 inches tall. It is the
perfect spot to store your rain mitts, phone/GPS, maps, or a
snack.
- Packs up a little bit smaller than a soda can. Roll the jacket
up and secure it with the wrist elastic. The chest pocket is also
large enough to store the jacket and your pants and mitts together
in it.
- Combine this jacket with a Rain Kilt or a pair of matching
Pants and Mitts for a super light rain
suit!
- Waterproof armpit zippers are included for venting in warm weather.
- Comfortable body length and sleeve length for good rain
protection over layers.
- All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in
materials or workmanship. Please see our
return / warranty policy.
Construction:
- Built from our Vertice 3-Layer
waterproof breathable fabric. This material is
constructed with a tricot lining to wick moisture away
from your skin, a waterproof, vapor permeable membrane in the
middle, and 7 denier ripstop nylon on the exterior.
- Incredible 56,000+ g/m^2/24hr vapor transfer per
test JIS L 1099 Method B1. This breathability rating
blows away most other rain gear, including our
previous generation fabrics.
- Fully waterproof, 20,000 mm hydrostatic head
rating.
- Durable, effective "C6" water repellent on the
exterior.

Reviews and Customer Testimonials:
Please email us with feedback (good or bad) if you have any!
"I made a significant order for rain gear and equipment recently for my current CDT thru attempt.
Everything has exceeded my expectation and the quality has been taken to another level since using your equipment on my AT thru in '14.
I didnt think that it could have improved but I am 110% satisfied! Brilliant!" -Dean P.
"I recently did the Kokoda Trail/Track hike in Papua New Guinea.
All my Zpacks gear held up very well.
The Vertice rain jacket is AWESOME and worked really well in the humid conditions." -Paul S.
"My Vertice rain suit worked very well on my 2017 thru-hike of the CDT.
Its the only rain gear I've found that allows the clothes under it to dry out.
I really liked having the chest pocket.
In fact I commonly put the shell on just to have a dry place to put my cell phone, gloves and hat." -Murray R.
"I just ordered and received a Vertice rain jacket. Well, today it's raining so I took it out for a test drive.
This is the first and only rain gear I've ever worn
(this includes gortex jackets, silnylon gear with pit zippers, coated nylon jackets, and a
DCF poncho)
that didn't turn into a personal sweat box within minutes. This fabric is amazing.
Hats off to you for making truly useful and lightweight rain gear that lives up to its description! Well done!" -Beth E.
"The XXL rain jacket in the whiz-bang fabric (my most recent order)- fits me well!
That's with a thermal top underneath, ex-officio shirt, and room to move. The fat-boy sleeping bag fits too- amazing-
the one I bought from you about 3 or 4 years ago felt like a straight jacket, so I gave it away." -Peter H.
"I have been using an assortment of your equipment for a couple of years now.
The Arc Haul and Duplex to name a couple. Last year, I purchased the Vertice rain jacket and pants.
While doing the 4 Pass Loop near Aspen, CO in mid September, I got to really test this rain gear.
It was a very chilly day and rain began around mid-morning continuing all day.
The Vertice package kept me warm bad dry! I was especially impressed with its breath a ability too!
While your gear isnt cheap, its definitely proved to be a good investment, as you never know what the trail will present.
Here is a
photo of me in my Vertice rain gear on Buckskin Pass." -Tim M.
