6 inch Orange Ultralight Titanium Tent StakesThese are the lightest weight stakes you can get with reasonable holding power and durability. Titanium is very light and strong for its weight, but some care should be exercised to prevent bending. Thin stakes like these are easier to press into moderately firm soil compared to thicker stakes. You will want to use rocks to weigh them down in loose soil or in windy conditions. They have an orange head to make them harder to lose. Weight: .19 ounces / 5.4 grams each Length: 6 inches / 15.2 cm Diameter: 3 mm Material: Ultralight Titanium Holding Power: Low Bend resistance: Low Price: $2.00 each |

6.5 inch Red Tough Titanium Tent StakesThese stakes are a little longer and they are also thicker gauge titanium. They have a little more grip and are less susceptible to bending. It is still better to press them into the ground rather than hammering. Use rocks to anchor them in high wind. They have an red head to make them harder to lose. Weight: .28 ounces (8 grams) Length: 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) Diameter: 3.5 mm Material: Ultralight Titanium Holding Power: Good Bend resistance: Good Price: $2.50 each |

6.4 inch Carbon Fiber Tent StakesThese stakes have the best holding power to weight ratio of any of the stakes we carry. They are made with a Carbon Fiber shaft with a metal tip and metal end cap. These have an orange cord through the end to make them easy to see, and easy to pull out of the ground. The cord also ensures that the metal end cap can't pop out. The thick diameter allows them to grip the ground better than thin titanium. These are excellent in loose soil, and they have also proven to be very functional in typical dirt. The thick diameter can be harder to drive into compacted ground. Never hammer these. Hold your foot in both hands for stability and press the stakes into the ground at an angle. If you can't press them into the ground all the way, anchor them with rocks instead. The carbon shafts are very strong and cannot be bent, but if they are stressed excessively they can snap. The metal tips are bonded in place but it is possible for them to come unglued. It is not a bad idea to have a tiny tube of super glue in your gear repair kit. Airplane Safe! These are the only stakes that can reliably be carried through airport security. We have carried these stakes through US airport security a dozen times with no issues. Our experience with metal stakes is they are confiscated about half the time. Please report if you have any trouble with these. Weight: .22 ounces (6.2 grams) Length: 6 3/8 inches (16 cm) Diameter: 7.5 mm Material: Carbon fiber with metal tips Holding Power: Better Bend resistance: Better Price: $3.50 each |

6 inch Sonic StakesThese stakes have a "Y-Beam" shape which gives them great holding power in a small package. The shape also gives them good bend resistance for an ultralight stake. The price of aluminum beats titanium or carbon. These are bright blue so they are hard to lose. They have a cord on the end to make it easy to pull them out of the ground. Never hammer ultralight stakes. While the bend resistance feels very solid, these are able to bend if you put your full weight on them. They also can be bent back reasonably well. Weight: .3 ounces (8.5 grams) including the cord Length: 6 inches (15.2 cm) Diameter: 8 mm Material: High grade aluminum Holding Power: Better Bend resistance: Good Price: $2.00 each |
7 inch Super Sonic StakesThese Y-Beam stakes are the largest and strongest that we have. The 7 inch length and large diameter give them excellent holding power. These are difficult to bend. They are strong enough to withstand being hammered or pounded with a rock, however the top end may get chewed up so we still recommend avoiding hammering. These are bright blue so they are hard to lose. They have a cord on the end to make it easy to pull them out of the ground. Weight: .44 ounces (12.5 grams) including the cord Length: 7 inches (17.8 cm) Diameter: 11.5 mm Material: High grade aluminum Holding Power: Best Bend resistance: Best Price: $2.25 each |

6.5 inch Titanium V StakesThese V shaped stakes are made from ultra light and ultra strong titanium. This broad stake is designed to grip loose soil and hold better in the wind compared to thinner stakes. They can be driven into normal soil, or tie your guy lines to the center and use them as an anchor in snow or beach sand. Although these are pretty strong, they can be bent in half if you lean your body weight on them too hard. In windy territory you may want a full set. For normal conditions save weight with the lighter stakes above, and maybe add just one or two of these for additional anchors on windy nights. These have a red coated end so that they are easy to see and a red cord to make them easier to pull out of the ground. Weight: .39 ounces (11 grams) Length: 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) Width: 14 mm Material: Ultralight Titanium Holding Power: Best Bend resistance: Good Price: $3.25 each |
